Today I got an email from Glenn Beck…..well you have to see this for yourself. It’s a zombie video game. I love zombies and I love zombie games. But what is this?!  In THIS shooter you are gunning for Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and Glenn Beck? Really, guys? If you were shooting Obama the world would be in arms over this. Here’s the link, see for yourself. Usually I can laugh off what the left does, but this is really crossing a line here:

I came across this video that was too too funny. First of all, raise your hand if you know what a Keynesian is….

Here is the definition from Meriam-Webster: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/keynesianism

And from YourDictionary.com: http://www.yourdictionary.com/keynes

Now….watch this…..

Read the treaty yourself at: http://www.parentalrights.org/vertical/Sites/%7BC49108C5-0630-467E-9B9B-B1FA31A72320%7D/uploads/%7BD55811D1-F884-44EE-892C-793B36FBA5D9%7D.PDF

I never understand why we need an international “treaty” for things not regarding war. I hate the idea of “international law”. Federal laws don’t even consider the different needs of individual communities and families. I hope we don’t agree to this crap. “Protecting children” sounds like a great thing, but we don’t need the UN to dictate how we “protect” our children. On first glance some of the items listed in the document sound great. A right to an education, a right to health care, a right to fair criminal proceedings, a right to free speech, protection from abuse. However, what YOU might think these things would mean, and how they are translated and implemented by governing bodies are two different things. Furthermore, having read the treaty I can tell you, anything that actually protects children is already law in our country. The only thing that would come of this would be to diminish the rights of the parents, which I do not think is helping children in the least bit.

Here is an article about life under UNCRC in belgium: http://www.parentalrights.org/index.asp?Type=B_BASIC&SEC={AE104423-1DC5-4E7C-B34A-765BD172BE56}

This would be another step to socialism; giving more and more of our personal liberties away. We all see how well that has worked out in Europe……..I would prefer to let the government STAY OUT of my life and I will succeed or fail due to my own efforts. You know, before all the government entitlements we had REAL communities helping those who were struggling. And now, do you even know your neighbor’s name? Who donates to the food bank? Who goes to the food bank or their church when they are struggling to feed their families? Or more likely, who says, I would help them, but they can just go to DSHS for help, so why bother? Who says, we are having a hard time let’s apply for state benefits? Our country is in a rapid and frightening decline after years of effort by the “progressive” do-gooders in Washington. Good intentions? Surely. Good results? You be the judge.

My child is where I draw the line. The government will not tell me how to rear my children. The government will not tell me they love my children more than I do. They will not tell me they know better  for my children than I do. They WILL NOT TELL ME THEY WILL PROTECT, EDUCATE, or PROVIDE for MY children. That is MY job, and I already take it very seriously. We don’t need more government bureaucracy, we need stronger communities. We need mothers and fathers who are committed to the well being of their children, and parental regulation is not going to do that. On the contrary we are going to have more parents who do not care because the government is taking care of that for them.

Here’s a radical idea: let’s encourage parental empowerment. Let’s provide education and resources for parents. And we don’t have to have a government program for that. How about a church group, or a private charity? Gee, young moms used to learn from the more experienced mothers in their families and neighborhoods. How about older parents reach out to their younger counterparts? Long ago if parents were having a hard time, others in their communities would pitch in and help them out. Now – do we even know when someone is struggling? Do we care about anyone outside of our own little lives? Do we notice when children are hungry, neglected, or abused? It seems to me that many families are reported for simply having a different parenting style, but the ones who are really in need are overlooked. We seem to have a serious issue of having one group who assumes no one is doing their job right and parents in question should be reported immedately, and one group not caring about anyone else period. What both of these groups have in common is that neither are communicating with their neighbors. Please, if you have doubts about something you see talk to the parents before you call CPS. And please if you see blatant abuse/neglect please care enough to help that child. Regardless of whatever might be problems within our current culture do you think MORE REGULATION is the answer? I for one – sincerely doubt it.

Please, empower yourself. Read about this UN treaty. Do your own research and draw your own conclusions. If, like me, you feel this would be harmful to the family unit please contact your Senator and tell them to vote NO. You can also go to www.parentalrights.org to become involved in an effort to amend the UN CRC and protect American families from overreaching international regulations.

In liberty and peace

Hello old friends

Oh my goodness what a summer! I just noticed that my last post was in May and that seems about right.

In May my little family moved back home to the country. It’s been so busy since then. We moved into our own place in July (my wonderful mother in law let us take over her little apartment for a couple months while we searched for something of our own). We still haven’t gotten everything moved from storage – we will call it a work in progress, but everything super important has found it’s way home.

In May we also found out that we are once again expecting a little bundle. This is our first OOPPPSSSS! So it took a little while to get used to the idea but we are now very excited to meet her. She is due Dec 24th but as my other two came 3-4 weeks early we are expecting little miss Ophelia Noveda to make her appearance at the end of November/beginning of December.

Sadly there is no Campaign for Liberty branch here. I’d like to get something started or to work with the local tea parties, but I couldn’t really tell you where my days go! Week after week pass by so quickly.

Today was Zoe’s first class at the home school co-op. I was so nervous for her behavior because the last couple weeks haven’t gone well at home, but she did pretty good. She definitely isn’t the best behaved in the class, but she didn’t embarrass me either, which is basically all I ask for these days. LOL. She’s 3 – I know my child well enough to know that she isn’t the type to sit quietly all day long. But she obeyed the teacher so that’s a win in my book. The class has 14 in it. There are only four girls! I’ve never worked with a large group of kids before so I was little overwhelmed when I had to take all ten boys to wash up before snack. And even though it was kinda crazy, it was fun. I’m on volunteer duty the next four weeks so I’m hoping to get the hang of it by then. The mothers in the home school group here are so nice, so that is also a relief. Not that they weren’t in Seattle, but I always get unnecessarily nervous about those kinds of things. I especially appreciate the moms with large families. They inspire me – that’s cheesy I know, but it’s true. It’s like, if they can do it with 5 then I can do it too! (I don’t want five, but lately there are times I wonder how I will do it with three.) There are also some really nice, supportive women. I’m excited to have these people in my life – and I’m hoping they like me too. I know I am the young one, and I do still have a lot to learn about children and motherhood, but I think anyone can see that I love my children very much and I do try my hardest every day to be the best I can be and to help my children be the best they can be too.

Homeschooling is going well. Zoe is so smart it amazes me. I introduce something on Monday and she’s got it down by Friday :) She knows her address and how to count to 25, her shapes and colors, days of the week (almost – we introduced it on weds and she can say half of the days without help), alphabet forwards and backwards, ect ect. She makes me so proud when she isn’t driving me insane :P She is also doing Karate. She does great when she is following directions but I’m told she is doing better than when we started so I guess I will just be patient.

Politically not much has changed. I’m really excited that we might be getting some fresh blood in the mix and hopefully getting rid of some of the old crazy liberals that we currently have in there. I’m pretty burnt out though in general. My husband seems to be picking up my slack. Ironically this time last year he was burnt out and I was on fire – now we seem to have switched places. He really wants to run for mayor in the next election but I think he’s got a lot to do to make that even a possibility so we will see.

So yeah that pretty much sums up where I am right now. TIRED LOL Busy with the kids and pregnant again. Yep that’s about right ;)

Has anyone else thought to themselves lately, “This feels like a nightmare!” ? Our school system is worthless, no worse than worthless it is harmful. And if you care enough to think about the injections given to your children or the people teaching your children then you are neglectful? Our president is a facist – if you disagree you may need to get news from somewhere besides the lamestream media. Big Government is trying to control EVERY aspect of our lives. Racial tensions are on the rise because people are playing into it. Our economy is in the trash but we are sending millions to bail out European countries. The right thinks the left is lying, the left thinks the right is lying and meanwhile EVERYONE IS GETTING BONED! I’m afraid to know what is going to happen in the next five years, I’m afraid for my children’s future. Meanwhile normal people are walking around two ways: pissy and glaring at everyone or sad and not paying attention to anything around them. BUT NO ONE WANTS TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! Wake up, go to work, eat lunch, go back to work, come home, eat dinner, go to bed, get up, go to work, eat lunch, go back to work, come home, eat dinner, go to bed……….what a worthless existence! Can we please break this cycle? Enough is enough but it takes all of us to stand up and say it.

Get your priorities straight - Have you spent quality time with your family today? This week? This month? What the heck are you doing? What is important to you? Those are the things you need to spend your time on.

Join a cause – I don’t care what it is as long as it will make a difference. Join the PTA, Church Youth Outreach, be a mentor, Join YAL, find your local tea party, Join C4L. Whatever you are most passionate about that is what you need to be working towards. It doesn’t have to be political to make a positive impact on the people in this country. Set 5 hours a month aside for that.

Smile – If you walk around sad or angry that is going to affect other people. Likewise if you walk around with a good attitude that is also going to affect other people. Pay attention. Is there a child alone in the store? Is there an elderly person who may need help with something? Was someone just mugged? Whatever happened to the golden rule?

Be involved with your kids – Liberals are indoctrinating our kids – you may think I’m crazy but it’s true. They are telling your kids that they are smarter than you; that you don’t know what is best for them. We need to put the value back on the family. Spend time with your kids, know what they are learning in school, know what they are doing in their free time. Let them know you love them and support them. They shouldn’t feel like they cannot talk to you about things.

Empower yourself – Knowledge is power. Information is NOT distracting. Don’t trust cable news for a fair and balanced broadcast. Learn about our history, our constitution, and current affairs and then help educate those around you. Be leery of misinformation from both sides of the aisle. Check check double check the facts. Facts ARE important.

I know you work hard – but if you aren’t taking care of the things that you are supposed to be working for then can you tell me what the point is?

In liberty!

This is really how I feel. I hope you won’t read this and decide something about me when you don’t know me. I hope you won’t assume I’m some conspiracy nut job. I’m just a mom. I’m just a 22 year old young woman. I am scared and I’m angry – but I’m no fool. I am sick to death of the race issue in immigration. I AM NOT A RACIST! Why is it when you talk about illegal immigrants people assume it’s a racial issue? Is that because most of our illegal immigrants come from Mexico? And why do people like me dislike this? It is for damn sure nothing to do with their race! Immigrants are wonderful when they do it legally. Who are we getting illegally? Criminals for the most part. When someone is here illegally they aren’t worried about following the laws or paying their taxes.

I remember quite vividly a few years back: there was a car crash and the person at fault was an unlicensed illegal immigrant. I made a comment about how I thought it was unconscionable how the police just let him go. If I had got in a wreck and didn’t have a valid license my car would be towed and I’d be in big trouble. Suddenly I was deemed a racist….WTF?!?!?! The girl I had had the conversation with harassed me to no end at work. She happened to be hispanic. Then another coworker asked me if I thought less of them because they were mexican. WHAT THE HELL!!!! What does this mentality come from? I had never said anything about the guys race or made any kind of racist comment. Just that I was shocked he wasn’t arrested. I still get overwhelmed and angry when I think about it. I had been deemed a racist and treated terrible for it and I hadn’t done anything. If I were hispanic and made that comment no one would have thought anything about it. I WAS THE VICTIM OF RACISM. And growing up where I did I was always the victim of racism. I am sick of people assuming that only white people can be racist. Mexicans are catered to. You can’t get a decent job if you don’t speaks Spanish which is mind numbing to me – they are being lazy so we have to cater to them? I live in France for a year in school. I didn’t speak a word when I got there and within three months I was fluent. I’m not saying you have to be fluent to live here – I am just saying you should be required to make an effort. And that doesn’t make me racist! There were many languages when this country began and English was selected – I’M SORRY IF THAT IS INCONVENIENT FOR YOU!

I’m also sorry if it isn’t “cool” to be “white” (I’m not white but people go by the color of your skin because that is racism in it’s essence – backwards and without any kind of mental effort ) and conservative, but that is who I am. When did our values become so distorted? The reason why they want to cut down on illegal immigrants in Arizona is because of the drugs, the gang violence, and the property crime. It isn’t because they are racist. Anyone who automatically assumes it is a race issue needs to take a good look in the mirror – you are projecting.

This whole thing is just going to create race wars and if you don’t think that isn’t exactly what our government has been trying to do then you are a fool. I’ve seen race wars. It has happened at my high school. A group of latino boys beat up a white guy who was completely outnumbered for no reason. Trust me, it’s a small town and everyone knows what happened, and plenty of people have been there. (I’ve had a girl try to pick a fight with me. I asked her why she wanted to fight. “What are you scared?” “I don’t know you. I have no reason to fight with you.” She took forever to back down. She wanted to fight with me because I was white.) All of a sudden whites and latinos are getting into fights, and you’re afraid to leave you house because you are outnumbered. And the worst part is that you’ve done nothing wrong and you are afraid for your life.

Ironically my grandmothers generation all married white people because at that time it was not cool to be a minority. Who gives a crap about the color of your skin? I sure as hell don’t! What I do care about is whether or not you are a nice person. Whether or not you have respect for other people and their property.

Illegal immigration is clogging up our system. The federal government has refused to enforce our laws for decades. People get deported and come right back across the border. And in most states you aren’t even allowed to ask. It is like reverse profiling. If I get pulled over they ask for my ID and it should be the same for everyone. There will be no real reform until we close the border. And I’m sorry but anyone who says a wall isn’t an option just shouldn’t speak to me. We need to build a wall and post guards. Only then can we truly reform immigration, and only then can we repair our economy. Mexico shoots on sight – but we take in all their riffraff and thanks to groups like the ACLU we aren’t even allowed to ask them if they are here legally.

Where I live you cannot get state health insurance if you are white unless you are pregnant and as soon as you have your postpartum you’re done. Your kids cannot go to headstart if they are white. They cannot get medical care. You cannot get assistance buying a home. You cannot get food assistance. Our government racially profiles for those benefits. If you are white you lose. In addition you are told to get a job you have to speak Spanish. You can understand why some people would become racist. That is wrong. It is our government’s fault. They are trying to win votes. You do not have to prove your citizenship to vote. This is what they are counting on, because if only American citizens were allowed to vote and it was strictly enforced the democrats would be gone. And any minority that thinks the democrats are really trying to help them is blind. They want to be in power so they want votes. They want people to be on entitlements. To be down and to be told that group A is doing it to group B. They want people never to question them or else be discredited as white hick racists. I want people to succeed. I want children to graduate from high school. I want parents to be working. I don’t care what race you are I want you to contribute and feel good, and succeed because you earned it – not because Joe down the street worked hard and payed his taxes and the government is now giving that money to you in entitlements. Those in power can only be in power when everyone is too hungry to care about what is going on. When people live off of the government they will never ask questions. You don’t dare bite the hand that feeds you.

We have to stop this cycle. Americans must band together and stop allowing the parties to divide us. If we disagree about immigration let’s sit down and talk about it peaceably. Stop pulling the race card – it will only cause violence, and they are looking for a reason to crack down and turn this into a police state. It’s natural for the people in power to crave more and more power, and if you don’t think they will do despicable things to get that power you must have never opened a history book.

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

Spending is Saving (tax and spend cannot fix our economy)
Love is Hate (loving your country and wanting a better future for you children does not mean you are hateful)

We are heading down a dangerous path…..

Color Me Purple

Recently I had a short conversation with my mother in law when she noticed that my favorite color was purple. Who knew that it meant anything? I found this to be fascinating and recently did a quick search on the matter. My favorite color is purple – shortly followed by orange. They are the two colors that I love love love. Interestingly, I despise brown and green might as well not exist my eye barely picks it up unless it is a vibrant synthetic looking hue. According to both websites it seems that brown and green are the opposites of purple and orange.

http://www.care2.com/greenliving/favorite-color-personality.html?&page=2 has a great description of what your favorite color means about you.
Here is my own:

Purple: Purples are highly individual, fastidious, witty and sensitive, with a strong desire to be unique and different. Temperamental, expansive and artistic, a Purple person may become aloof and sarcastic when misunderstood. If you chose Purple, you tend to be unconventional, tolerant and dignified, likely to achieve positions of authority.

Orange: This color of luxury and pleasure appeals to the flamboyant and fun-loving person who likes a lively social round. Orange people may be inclined to dramatize a bit, and people notice them, but they are generally good-natured and popular. They can be a little fickle and vacillating, but on the whole they try hard to be agreeable. Orange is the color of youth, strength, fearlessness, curiosity and restlessness.

Another website, http://www.sensationalcolor.com/color-meaning-symbolism-and-psychology/ says

Purple embodies the balance of red’s stimulation and blue’s calm. This dichotomy can cause unrest or uneasiness unless the undertone is clearly defined, at which point the purple takes on the characteristics of its undertone. With a sense of mystic and royal qualities, purple is a color often well liked by very creative or eccentric types and is the favorite color of adolescent girls.

Orange, a close relative of red, sparks more controversy than any other hue. There is usually strong positive or negative association to orange and true orange generally elicits a stronger “love it” or “hate it” response than other colors. Fun and flamboyant orange radiates warmth and energy.

What does your favorite color say about you?

Nineteen Eighty-Four

“1984″ by George Orwell (1949)

Just read this masterpiece – LOVE IT! I started reading it last night and I could not put it down. I read the thing in three sittings which were interrupted by hungry children, sleep, and hungry children.

The story follows a middle aged man named Winston who lives in a future imagined in 1949 by George Orwell. It was hard to believe as I was reading it that it was written so long ago. From the first sentence I read I was hooked. The main theme is that our reluctant protaganist lives in the far off future of 1984 where the world is divided into only three countries. “Oceana”, the home of our hero, is a totalitarian nation ruled by “BIG BROTHER”. Plastered on a poster in Winston’s apartment building, “Victory Mansions”, the caption read “Big Brother is Watching You” – and that was no joke. Every room had a “telescreen” in it that could not be turned off, but the frightening part was not the party propaganda blasted at all hours of the day, but that it was a two way screen! Yes, that is right, the government could hear and see everything happening in your home. There was an abundance of rules for party members (people outside the party were regarded as non human and had no laws to abide by). Yet there was only one crime punishable by death. This was called “thought crime”. “The Party” as it was referred to was so controlling it even created it’s own language. This ensured that in the future one could not commit “thought crime” because there would be literally no way to think of freedom, liberty, religion and other pesky notions that would lead to “thought crime”. They would be erased completely, words for these things would not exist in their new language. Winston feels alone in his plight of secretly hating the party until he makes some new friends and, of course, chaos ensues. TWO THUMBS WAY UP! I recommend this to everyone and I am even planning to donate my copy to the library so they have one more copy to loan out. By the way for those of you who are lazy they did make a movie which was release on Dec. 14, 1984 no less. I haven’t seen it yet so I have no idea how true it stays to the Original story. The book by the way includes violence, extreme poverty, war, sex, drugs/alcohol ect and I would not recommend it for anyone under the age of 15 – although I think everyone should read this once they are old enough to handle and understand the themes.

Today I got an email from Campaign for Liberty. Today’s topic? Lyndsey Graham (“R” – yeah right, you’re not fooling me Senator Graham) and Chuck Schumer (D) have some super great ideas on immigration reform that do not involve securing our borders or enforcing illegal immigration laws. No no no, that’d be silly. Instead they have started the ball rolling on a national id card that would be required in order to obtain work. Does this sound familiar? Some people might say – who cares? What’s the big deal? Like the census it is a somewhat subtle intrusion into our liberties that is designed to help right? Personally I can stand a “conspiracy theorist” better than I can stand someone so apathetic about their own liberties. When will you wake up and say ENOUGH!? I remember a year ago my husband saying that California law makers were talking about requiring everyone to have health insurance. “They can’t do that” I told him “that is clearly a violation of our constitution”. At the time I had never heard about Romney care. So here we are once again faced with the beginnings of another afront to our way of life. They are well on their way of turning this country from a capitalist republic to full on socialism. They have had this in the works for a long long time and all the while Americans have been slumbering. WAKE UP! Demand your rights are kept safe. Please sign the petition (I have the link below). You don’t have to donate in order to sign the petition.

http://www.chooseliberty.org/NationalId2.aspx?pid=1

It seems like the only thing I am hating more than the government take over of health care right now, is the media (including Fox) pitting us all against each other. This is already such a personal and firey issue. Now we have whack jobs on both sides acting out – CALLED IT!!! – and our news channels fueling the fire. On top of it you have the president of the United States giving speeches basically saying “HAHA we won!” – He should really be arrested for inciting a riot. He is firing up the dems and pissing off everyone else. What a cocky douche bag (yes please quote me, that is what I think of the guy, he is as slimy as they get). But mostly I am just so sick of all of this. I think our government is out of control, but I am sick of hearing how that makes me a racist. We DO need reform but we need common sense reform. The bill they just passed had a lot more in it than the two things they continually talked about: no more pre existing conditions, and chidren 26 and under being able to stay on their parent’s plan. This thing goes beyond corruption. I don’t know how the democrats can blame the republican party for people going nuts after they passed this thing. However, democrats got their way, and they still have nut jobs on their side acting out. The whole thing is despicable. By the way I am also sick of seeing people fighting on forums ect. There are people that are for and people that are against it. If you really think it is a good idea that is great! I just want my family to be left alone. We work hard for what little we have and we are trying to provide a good life for our children. Just leave us alone, and do whatever you want with yourselves. We don’t need the government telling us we have to purchase a service, and then threaten us by taking the bread out of our mouths if we don’t. It is clearly a violation of our constitutional rights. Thugs! I hope everyone realizes by pitting us against each other they are trying to keep us from uniting against them. I worry for this country and I worry for my children. And where do we go? This is the last free country and we are watching it fall. Enough is enough. Call me doom and gloom but I feel like I am living in a nightmare.
